Let's learn about Christmas in England!
Christmas in England
Christmas is a happy winter holiday. In England
children have their Christmas holidays. English
people celebrate Christmas on the twenty-fifth of
December.
They spend Christmas Eve cooking and getting ready
for Christmas Day. They decorate their houses
and Christmas trees with Christmas toys, bells, angels
and lights. Santa Claus comes at night. He puts
presents for children into big red stockings.
People in England always spend Christmas Day with
their family. At Christmas they eat roast
turkey and Christmas pudding. They sing carols.
Carol is a Ukrainian koliada. People give each
other presents and send Christmas cards. They get
Christmas cards from their family and friends. On
Christmas Day they open their presents and they
pull Christmas crackers.
They often say “Merry Christmas and a happy New
Year!”
