Kyiv
Kyiv is the capital of Ukraine. It is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Kyiv was founded more than 1500 years ago. Kyiv is located on the picturesque banks of the Dnipro River. The population of Kyiv is 3 million people.
There are many streets and squares in the city. The main street is called Khreshchatyk Street. Independence Square is a very popular place. Kyiv is the political, economic, scientific, industrial and cultural centre of Ukraine. It has a lot of museums, art galleries, concert halls, theatres and cinemas. The city is very green. Kyiv is also famous for its attractive parks. A lot of trees grow on both sides of Kyiv`s streets. The chestnut tree is a symbol of Kyiv. The city has a well-developed transport system. Many buses, minibuses, trolley-buses, trams and cars carry passengers around the city. There is also an underground, a railway station, an airport and a river port. Kyiv is a modern European city.
